Lean Six Sigma Training

Three streams · Four belt levels · Twelve credentials

QCDMS · Oakville, Ontario · Delivered in person across Ontario

WHY THIS TRAINING

Every organization has processes. Every process has waste and variation in it. Lean Six Sigma is the structured method for finding both, fixing them with evidence rather than opinion, and making the improvement hold.

It is one of the few skill sets that transfers across every sector and every role. A nurse, a machine operator, a municipal clerk and a nuclear project manager use the same tools — they just point them at different processes.

The certification is issued to the individual and stays with them, regardless of who they work for next.
Choose a stream
Three published streams. Each runs at four belt levels, to the same certification standard. The certificate names the stream and the level, so an employer or recruiter knows exactly what was covered.
Choosing a stream
StreamWhat it coversTypical setting
LeanLean is about removing waste — anything that consumes time, effort or money without adding value for the customer. The Lean stream teaches the Toyota Production System toolkit: standard work, daily management, flow, Just in Time, Jidoka, Kaizen and value stream mapping. Data and measurement are covered at working level.Operations, transit, construction, municipal services, healthcare flow, warehousing — anywhere the problem is delay, movement, rework or inconsistency in how work gets done.
Six SigmaSix Sigma is about reducing variation — the inconsistency that makes a process unpredictable. The Six Sigma stream teaches the statistical toolkit: measurement systems, process capability, control charts, hypothesis testing and DMAIC. Lean concepts are covered at working level.Biopharma, nuclear, regulated manufacturing, laboratories — anywhere decisions must be defensible with data and the process must be provably capable.
Lean Six SigmaMost real problems need both. The Lean Six Sigma stream teaches the full toolkit — waste and variation, flow and statistics, Kaizen and DMAIC. It is the default stream and the credential most employers ask for by name. Most employers, and anyone unsure which they need. Also the right choice where a team faces both flow problems and quality variation.

Two-stage credential

A Certificate of Training Completion is issued on completion of classroom hours and examination. Belt Certification follows on acceptance of the improvement project. For White and Yellow Belt, where a project is optional, both are issued together.

Three ways to take it
Follow the pathway
Begin at White Belt and advance level by level within your chosen stream.

Enter directly
Hold equivalent prior training or demonstrable experience? Enter at Yellow, Green or Black Belt directly. Confirmed through a short prior-learning review, so nobody is placed above their level.

Take one level on its own
Any belt can be delivered as a standalone program for a group with a specific need.

Sectors
The curriculum is fixed. Topics, definitions, formulas and statistical methods are identical in every program. What varies is the example used to teach them — you learn SIPOC by drawing one for a process you actually work in, and you learn Y = f(X) using variables you recognize.

  • Nuclear & Power Generation
  • Automotive & Tier Manufacturing
  • Biopharma & Life Sciences
  • Cannabis & Regulated Production
  • Environmental & Waste Management
  • Transit & Transportation
  • Public Sector & Municipal Government
  • Healthcare & Clinical Services
  • Food Processing & Consumer Goods
  • Construction & Skilled Trades

Where a participant works in a sector not listed, the same tools are taught using an example process from that setting.

Next steps
Tell us about your role and what you need to be able to do, and we will confirm the right belt level — including whether direct entry at a higher level applies to you.
